Top revenue teams ❤️ Nektar
Gong records what's said on calls. Nektar captures who's involved in deals — the contacts, buying committee, and engagement data that otherwise never makes it into Salesforce.
Nektar vs Gong
Complete Revenue Data, Beyond Call Recordings
Trusted by leading B2B revenue teams for Salesforce-ready data, not just call recordings

Features
Activity Matching logic
ML-Based Affinity Engine
Scores activities based on domain, keywords, and participants to auto-attach to the single best opportunity. No manual filters needed.
Static IF/THEN Rules
Relies on pre-set "include/exclude" filters. Gong's own documentation acknowledges that accounts with multiple open opportunities require manual reassociation.
Attribution
Multi-User Attribution
Creates a single parent event with child events for every internal attendee (AE, SE, CSM), ensuring full credit in Salesforce
Single User Only
Logs activity only under the meeting organizer or primary contact, making attribution difficult.
Alias Support
Full Support
Captures and assigns activities even if reps use alias emails or secondary domains.
Not Supported
Only supports a single primary domain; alias emails are ignored.
Contact Creation Method
Automated (Email & Calendar)
Deep integration standard objects. Uses participant data from both emails and calendar invites.
Custom Flows (Calls Only)
Gong's own FAQ states it doesn’t natively auto-create Salesforce contacts. Workflows are manual, admin-dependent, inactive by default, and break under batch sync (causing duplicate OCRs).
Email-Only Contact Capture
Full coverage
Contacts captured from emails, not just calls
Call-only
Email participants not written as OCRs
Accuracy & Context
High Precision
Context-aware ML handles complex scenarios (partners, multiple open opps) to prevent data overlaps.
Low Precision
Lacks context. Struggles when multiple opportunities are open or partners are involved, leading to messy data.
Automated Buyer Role Assignment
Supported
Automatically identifies and assigns buyer personas (e.g., Decision Maker, Influencer).
Not Supported
No visibility into who is who within the buying group.
CRM Visibility
Rich Data in Salesforce
Pushes structured data (Meeting Status, Type, Attendees) directly into native Salesforce fields for reporting.
Locked Data
Creates a basic task with a link to the recording. Rich insights remain locked inside the Gong UI and are not reportable in CRM.
Engagement Signals
Actionable Signals
Syncs Engagement Scores, Last/Next meeting dates, and "Stalled" alerts to standard objects (Leads, Contacts, Opps).
Limited Visibility
Insights are kept in Gong, limiting visibility for Marketing and other revenue teams.
Granular Security
Comprehensive Control
Block/Ignore based on email body patterns, subject lines, folders, labels, and private events.
Basic Control
Limited to Email/Domain blocking only.
Confidentiality
Masking Supported
Can mask confidential subjects or email bodies (e.g., executive conversations).
Not Supported
Cannot mask specific content within logged activities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Nektar and Gong be used together, or do they replace each other?
They're complementary. Gong analyzes conversation quality on calls. Nektar ensures that deal data, contacts, and engagement signals are accurately captured in Salesforce. Teams that need both call coaching and clean CRM data often run them together.
We already have Gong. Why would we need Nektar too?
Gong shows you what was said on calls. Nektar captures who is actually in the deal — every stakeholder across emails and calendar — and writes that data to Salesforce where your entire revenue stack can use it. Many Nektar customers run both tools together: Gong for call coaching, Nektar for deal data completeness.
Do I need to already be using Salesforce to use Nektar?
Yes. If your team runs on Salesforce or Migrating to Salesforce and want cleaner, AI-ready CRM data without manual effort, Nektar is a strong fit. If you're on HubSpot or another CRM, Nektar isn't the right tool today.
What if our CRM data is already messy? Does Nektar require clean Salesforce hygiene first?
No — and this is a key distinction. Gong's own documentation warns that its matching requires strong CRM hygiene to work accurately. Nektar is designed to work despite messy CRM data, and in many cases creates the missing data that was causing the hygiene problem in the first place.
How does Nektar protect sensitive communications from being logged?
Admins can exclude activities by subject line, email body patterns, folder labels, private calendar events, or specific domains. Sensitive content can also be masked — something basic domain-blocking tools don't support.
What happens to Nektar data if we cancel our contract?
Because Nektar writes everything to native Salesforce standard objects, your data stays in your CRM regardless of your Nektar contract status. You're not locked into a proprietary UI to access your own deal history — unlike platforms that keep insights locked behind their interface.
How is Nektar different from Salesforce's native Einstein Activity Capture (EAC)?
EAC logs basic activities. Nektar goes further — it creates contacts, assigns buyer roles, scores engagement, flags stalled deals, and writes everything to native Salesforce standard objects, making it fully reportable.
How does Nektar handle data privacy and security?
Nektar is SOC 2, ISO27001 and CASA compliant, built with enterprise-grade security. You can review the full trust posture at Nektar's trust page.
